The Summer School of Truth is being carried out for young people every August in the Eastern and the Western regions of Canada.
Note: Western Canada generally refers to the region comprising the 4 Western provinces of British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba. Eastern Canada generally refers to the region comprising the 4 Atlantic provinces of Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, New Brunswick, Newfoundland, and Labrador, as well as the 2 Central provinces of Ontario and Quebec.
Summer School of Truth in Eastern Canada
Since 2007, the churches in Eastern Canada have been holding a combined week-long Summer School of Truth every August. For the first few years, it was held at the campus of Redeemer University College in Ancaster, Ontario. Since 2013, it has been held in a more rural setting at the Upper Canada Camp in Palgrave, Ontario. Without the distractions from their daily life, the young people are in a healthy environment where they can more easily focus on the Lord, His word, the ministry and the fellowship with students from different localities.
This past August the Summer School of Truth was held virtually over Zoom with 89 young people participating. During one of the evening sessions, we had a combined blending meeting with the Summer School of Truth in western Canada.
Summer School of Truth in Western Canada
Since 1994, the churches in Western Canada have participated corporately in week-long Summer School of Truth held in Vancouver, BC. By 2002, the location of the Summer School of Truth was moved to Trinity Western University, which is a campus with excellent facilities located an hour’s drive from Vancouver. This afforded the churches a wonderful environment where the young people can be occupied with the Summer School of Truth with no distractions. Aside from the saints in Canada, the young people and serving ones from churches in the Northwestern United States also attended.
Today, the Summer School of Truth is a joint effort among a good number of churches in both Canada and the United States. There is untold benefit for the young people of different churches blending together in a spiritual atmosphere. Also, the Summer School of Truth allows the serving ones from many different localities to be blended in one coordination and affords them an excellent opportunity for their perfecting. In August 2014, a total of 360 saints were gathered together, representing 15 localities in Canada, 12 localities in the United States, and 3 localities overseas. Of these 360 saints, 94 were serving ones and 266 were young people.
