Church in Coquitlam

CHURCH HISTORY & CHURCH LIFE

The saints living in the Tri-Cities area were mostly meeting in the church in Burnaby while some were meeting in Surrey and Vancouver (the Tri-Cities are composed of Port Moody, Coquitlam and Port Coquitlam, with Coquitlam being the centre geographically and largest in population). As early as the 1990s, these saints were burdened for the church to be established in Coquitlam, praying and meeting in homes to seek the Lord’s will in this matter.

In 2010, there was much fellowship with the co-workers and among the churches concerning this. In February 2011, saints living in the area laboured on gospel outreach in the Tri-Cities area. They were joined by saints from surrounding churches in the Metro Vancouver area as well as some full-time trainees from Anaheim, California. On March 6, 2011, as a district of the church in Burnaby, the saints in the Tri-Cities area began to have the Lord’s table meeting at the Kyle Centre in Port Moody. The church in Coquitlam was officially established on November 6, 2011, with saints attending from 14 localities in Canada as well as saints from some churches in USA.
