CHURCH LIFE & CHURCH HISTORY
The church life in Abbotsford began in the 2000’s in the homes of saints in the city. On January 6th, 2015, saints in Abbotsford and neighboring cities met as the Fraser Valley District of The Church in Surrey and had their first corporate prayer meeting in the basement of a brother’s home in the city of Abbotsford. On the Lord’s Day, January 11th, 2015, the first Lord’s Table meeting in the city of Abbotsford was attended by 34 local saints.
The district Lord’s Day Meeting attendance average increased from thirty four (34) in the Year of 2015 to sixty four (64) in the Year of 2020. Our Tuesdays’ Prayer Meeting attendance average increased from nine (9) in the Year 2015 to twenty five (25) in the Year 2020. We began with two (2) group meetings in the city of Abbotsford and neighbouring cities in the Year 2015 with a combined average of twenty one (21) attendees. Now, there are three (3) group meetings with a combined average of forty one (41) attendees including saints from the city of Kelowna. These small groups meet from house to house.
Due to the number of local saints attending and the number of saints visiting and blending from different districts or localities, the meeting was relocated to a civic building in Aldergrove area in September 2019. The physical meetings in the civic building continued until March 2020 after which the saints could no longer meet together due to the pandemic. The saints were reminded that we are not abandoning our own assembling together. We changed our meeting format to virtual meetings starting from March 15th, 2020. We are continually exhorting one another to connect with each other even more intimately and mutually in smaller numbers.

Prayer Burdens:
- For the saints being prepared and ready for the establishing of the lampstand in the city of Abbotsford.
- That the Lord will continue to vitalize the saints in their living through twos-and-threes and mutual shepherding.
- The saints would grow and labour corporately in the preaching of the gospel to bear remaining fruit in the University of the Fraser Valley (UFV) as well as in the community.
