Bibles for Canada

Bibles for Canada (BfC) was inaugurated in June 2006 with a distribution in the Markham and Kitchener/Waterloo areas of Ontario in conjunction with a Bibles for America tour. A second distribution took place in July of that year in Edmonton, Alberta.

During the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics, many local saints volunteered for the Bible distribution around the cities in the Metro Vancouver area. With special permission from the transit authority, distribution took place at local Sky Train stations but focused in the Vancouver Downtown core where many Olympics events were hosted. Over 4,000 Bibles plus books were handed out during this time.

Regular Bible distributions have been carried out in Montreal, Quebec City and Halifax. The Montreal Metro subway system has been a unique venue allowing BfC to regularly distribute Bibles and literature at their stations. This continues to be a great outlet for both French and English New Testament Recovery versions and literature.

Over the years, BfC has also had distributions in Toronto, Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Calgary and Vancouver. The saints in all these cities can testify that they have been greatly rejuvenated by their participation in these events. Personal distribution of the Bibles is also occurring on a regular basis in many of the churches in Canada.

The church in Calgary has the responsibility for the administration of BfC and the mailings of Bibles and other literature. To date, at least 41,000 Bibles have been distributed including 37 copies in the Canadian Arctic Region. A number of the Bible recipients are meeting with the churches.
